Unique exhibition “Tradition for the future, through silk threads“
was created inspired by the collaboration of the brand Maruška
with museums, galleries and overall, cultural institutions
of historical importance. That unique connection inspired us
to create an exhibition that will bring all those elements together
a unique silk product.
We will transfer our creativity, emotions and energy to fashion accessories from
silks with motifs of the works of art of the greatest Yugoslav painters,
as well as motifs from Serbian history and literature, whose
the importance and cultural value is immeasurable and world-wide.
With a modern look, but with respect for tradition,
we managed to transfer these artworks to a new,
wearable medium – silk scarves, scarves and dresses.
In this way, we are exceptional works of fine art
turned into small wearable masterpieces on silk and
brought them closer to a wider audience.
Through each exhibit as well as the entire exhibition setting,
a story is presented in which tradition, through thin threads of silk,
it intertwines with the future in which art takes on new shapes and forms.
Our goal is to remind you of the importance of Serbian culture
creativity and the enormous influence of the cultural heritage of these areas,
but also to intrigue them with a new interpretation of the most famous,
but also some forgotten works from
Serbian traditions, culture and art.
